How it works
- Pick a type above and watch the presets play.
- Click the one you like. Its name is copied.
- In After Effects open Window › Effects & Presets, paste the name, and double-click the preset.
Why can't I preview animation presets inside After Effects?
The Effects & Presets panel lists presets by name only. Adobe's own way to preview them is Animation › Browse Presets, which opens Adobe Bridge, and that needs Bridge installed and often does not play. This gallery shows the same presets without it.
Where are animation presets stored in After Effects?
In the app they are in the Effects & Presets panel under Animation Presets. On disk they are .ffx files in the Presets folder inside the After Effects application folder (Support Files › Presets on Windows).
How do I apply an animation preset?
Select a layer, move the playhead to where the animation should start, and double-click the preset in the Effects & Presets panel. You can also drag the preset onto the layer.
Do I need to download these presets?
No. Every preset shown here is installed with After Effects. Click a preset to copy its name, paste it in the Effects & Presets search box, and it appears.
Which version of After Effects are these from?
They were rendered in After Effects 2026 (version 26.5). Most of them also exist in older versions; newer folders such as Number Counters and Adobe Express may be missing there.
